I would recommend wrangler, but if you're using quick edit, you can bind it in the settings UI for the worker instead: Settings -> Variables -> KV Namespace Bindings

You can do it via the Cloudflare API too, but you wouldn't want to do that from the frontend, so yeah, the Worker is probably the best idea.
