req.auth is user session and auth((req) => {auth((req) => { is wrapper for middleware from next-auth v5 that looks something like this under the hood

this code too doesn't give me user session on wrangler pages dev

I'm trying to redirect user based on his session.

if that's not giving you a user session, I would query whether there is an active user session, or whether something is misconfigured

my middleware looks like this but I'm not using any adapters:

I already have WSL installed, but when I run the cloudflare cli command on my linux system this message appears: "CMD.EXE was started with this path as the current directory. UNC paths are not allowed.
UNC paths are not allowed. Defaults back to the Windows directory."

Fixed: I need to reinstall node in WSL, otherwise WSL will use the npm installed on Windows and that causes an error

Thanks for the tip! wrangler tail tells me I'm missing AUTH_SECRET. However, I put it in the environment using wrangler secret. Am guessing nextjs doesn't know to look there. Any idea on where AUTH_SECRET should be stored on cloudflare pages?

Heyo!

It seems that using 14.2.1 (so far I know), I am suddenly getting a weird error.
Error: The 'cache' field on 'RequestInitializerDict' is not implemented.Error: The 'cache' field on 'RequestInitializerDict' is not implemented., when googling this, I found some supabase stuff, which I don't use.

However, my code contains a fetch on the page, which is for example:

The issue here, is the cachecache part, if I remove it, it works fine. What's wrong with the no-cache? Is there a reason why it suddenly does not work anymore?

I can't get user in api routes in preview too but on local works

Edit:
I added useSecureCookies: process.env.NODE_ENV === "development" ? false : true, useSecureCookies: process.env.NODE_ENV === "development" ? false : true, to next-auth config and now everyting works

the reason here Worker detect the cache in the request. if you dont set the cache it will failed.

Got the issue fixed - boiled down to me thinking I could use $ wrangler secret put to create secrets in cloudflare pages

. My secret for authjs didn't exist in production env. Had to manually add. cc @James

hey all, anyone have any experience with using durable objects from within next routes, locally? it doesnt seem like my DO is starting up right, when i attempt to get an id/stub everything is just undefined... I have something like this:

Hello everyone! I'm currently migrating our app to Next-on-Pages and we are evaluating using KV instead of firebase. Quick question: I understand that KV bindings can be accessed in a runtime edge component (SSR/Workers). Can these same KV bindings be accessed in a server component (Static Rendering/Node.js) during the build process?

About Next.js' 2MB cache limit

Failed to set fetch cache https://foobar.com/data Error: fetch for over 2MB of data can not be cached

There is a discussion in the Next.js repo about it https://github.com/vercel/next.js/discussions/48324
People talk about modifying the hardcoded 2MB limit in node_modules... which I'd rather not do.
Of course, some advise to keep fetch calls under 2MB... but that's not always possible.

One of our API calls returns almost 50MB of data.
I'm wondering how you guys deal with this?

From what I can see in the docs, and my own experience, those env variables only get defined during build; also note that the url in the CF_PAGES_URLCF_PAGES_URL var is the default .pages.dev.pages.dev one, if you plan on using a custom domain it's better to define your one env to specify it

I don't think so? Though you should be able to add it manually by putting it in a .dev.vars.dev.vars file:

Haven't heard anything about it. IIRC it is an issue from Next itself, not next-on-pages, as it expects to have control over routing, unless it is a fully static build
