ZI got a hypothetical question, say I am playing warframe as I do with the tdp at 16w max settings capped at 48fps.
The game flawlessly keeps it at that, now I got 3-4 hours of playtime.
Now I change the tdp to 30w or even 40w, but the settings in Warframe remains the same and it is still capped at 48fps.
Why does higher tdp drain more battery even tho nothing changes, or does it just feel like it because I am expecting the battery to drain quickly (placebo)…?

ASo between 20w and 30w you get like 5 fps difference
ABut you still use up 50% more energy
ASo if the game can use more than 20w battery life will be meh
ZSo a game that would run at same settings and fps would still be better to run then at the lower tdp because the loading screens and menus would still consume that extra bit of battery power.
