CShould have done similar. Nvidia hasn’t been fun. Have issues with NVK also so I’m back on -nvidia and it’s flicker city
Dflickering is so bad I'm running X11 again on my desktop 
Dworks fine on my dell laptop w/ nvidia graphics -- don't know why
Dthink it has to do with it running the display via intel integrated
CAnd Gnome freaks out when I turn on my AVR so I have to remember to turn it on before I boot or the desktop freezes

DI paid like twice that for my 3090 around 2020
Dalthough shortages were so bad back then it was cheaper to buy a PC with a GPU in it than to build yourself
DJust checked, in dec 2020 I paid $1,727.50 for the 3090. So yeah, "only" $900 
KI bought my 6900 XT around the same time
KASUS TUF 6900 XT OC, $1300
Kthat one is basically a straight trade, it's a little faster than yours in raster, and a considerable amount slower in RT
DI kind of wanted a 6900 XT but they were even more impossible to find than 3090s
DDon't get me wrong -- the 3090 is great. Just wish the software support was there
DNvidia could have been getting things ready for wayland years ago and not scrambling while everyone finally defaults to it
Dhow is power management and thermals on the amd? I remember that being worse than Nvidia when I had my Radeon VII
EOfc as soon as I eliminate all the Nvidia stuff in my life, I hear I'm going to be working on CUDA stuff
