) and update went smoothly and i rather quick. Tried playing some games and all seems to work fine. I thought it could potentially break stuff, but nothing of sorts seems to have happened. Is there any performance implication if i disable it or keep it running?

if you disable it, updates are about 5 or so mins faster since it does not rebuild the initramfs on each update

So only faster updates, nothing else? May i ask why is it not auto disabled after initial set up? I assume vfio is not used by the majority of users, therefore those who want to use it could explicitly enable it manually. No offense, genuinely curious.

it was required up until the update we added the PSA as the whole initramfs stuff got reworked, now it is only required if you need to enable modules that are disabled by default or you need to mess with modprobe or dracut

and since some people might have added custom stuff to initramfs we dont flat out disable it to avoid messing with what they had added

if this is the desktop image then make sure you have disabled the ublue-update.timerublue-update.timer using sudo systemctl disable --now ublue-update.timersudo systemctl disable --now ublue-update.timer
that way it will only update when you trigger an update with

rpm-ostree update
