Hey guys, I finally (partially) figured out an issue that has been driving my absolutely insane and causing me to leave cryptic help requests all over the internet. Any chance you guys could get me over the last hurdle? To cut to the heart of the matter: this fstab entry auto-mounts at boot without providing exec ability. If I unmount and re-mount it, however, I get exec ability and suddenly everything works. Why am I not getting exec from automount?
because without exec youre expected to set the executable bit yourself which is standard (and with the noexec option, you cannot set anything executable) exec makes everything always executable no matter what
@nickname Portmaster won't open. I found a discussion about making it work on fedora atomic but it involved some advanced stuff and running some script. I don't think it's worth the trouble
