try changing to X11, it fixed the flickering for me, I'm also on Nvidia

Well it appears I'll have to until it gets sorted next month. I had a bit more hope seeing as everything works OOTB on my optimus laptop but I guess desktop is another story

Assuming you are in kde, in the battery drop-down in your taskbar has a switch to prevent the screen from turning off

yes it has, but as I can always turn it on and off when watching youtube or something similair, Id prefer if it worked automatically
