II have the same issue
MSince no Suggestions area exists I guess I'm posting here. Would be nice if Cinnamon or LXQt was another DE option. KDE and Gnome aren't the only DEs out there.
TWe usually would prefer they already existed as an upstream Fedora Atomic Desktop choice. We also opt for Wayland capable DEs. I understand both have made progress towards Wayland and that isn't an easy take to switch over and takes time, but that's kind of our policy for now. Our next DE will be Budgie since they are planning to have Wayland ready in the next major release. COSMIC may come later since someone is already maintaining an early build of it as another Universal Blue image.
MAh. I kind of prefer Cinnamon over KDE imo, that's why I mentioned.
TYeah, I mean this isn't exactly viable for a lot of people, but you can build your own Bazzite with Cinnamon, but that isn't an easy task especially for a X11 DE
Tstuff is usually built around wayland and will be going that route exclusively when Fedora 41 comes out and both KDE Plasma and GNOME will no longer have X11 support
TWe're actually not the ones making that decision. It's all happening within the Fedora GNOME and KDE groups where they plan to stop supporting that for Fedora 41 entirely
