I'm usually fine with the normal Ubuntu upgrades but jumping to a new release.... um yeah, reinstall is better. Where as Bazzite 39 to 40 upgrade had some issues but you could rollback and now 40 is fine
Freaking trying use their upgraded to go the next version and it took forever to crash. I had to look up the command to run it from the terminal. At least with arch it's always sudo pacman -Syu
If you want an alternative. Lenovo X12 detachable is a solid Surface Pro + Intel alternative. You can find refurb for decent prices, intel i5 11th gen, works mostly ootb with Linux
I really just need a device to work foreverish. I really don't care for more performance than my current laptop. I just want battery and a lighter chassis for tablet use
