I have a Pages project that I needed to upgrade to use Queues, but it turns out I can't add consumers in Pages? This is pretty disappointing. I figured I'd be able to make a new function that could be a consumer so I could keep all my code in one project.

What would be the best way to run a task a few minutes after a function executes? I was thinking either a cron task (in workers) that runs every 5 minutes and checks for a list of scheduled tasks in the database, or a durable object with alarms?

Create a function which you can send a POST to that calls an email API like SendGrid to send the email for you. You need the function so that you can use secrets/api keys (passed in through environment variables) that should not be revealed in the frontend.

If this function is for something like a contact form that is exposed to the public (you don't have to log in to use it), then take extra precautions to prevent abuse. Add CSRF prevention and rate limiting.

Even though it's a single endpoint, you might want to consider using a microframework like Hono since it has built in middleware you can apply that does CORS, CSRF, and there's a 3rd party rate limiter middleware as well.

Usually Hugo, but I have successfully set up and used functions in projects that don't use a framework, too. To be slightly more specific, I've managed to get my functions talking with Stripe checkout and Google scripts, but not Respond or Mimetext.

You can use sentry for page functions. I'm using it with Hono.
