Hey, workers (and more specifically, Durable Objects with their websocket hibernation api) would be perfect, assuming you can adapt your data storage solution. #durable-objects is the best channel to ask if you get stuck, the docs don't contain enough examples to understand everything

Question regarding durable objects (DO). If I have one DO class but let’s say 100 instances. Will I be billed 100 x 128mb or only once 128mb if they all do in practice not occupy more than that? It is not explained very well in the documentation

Those footnotes go over it pretty well:

4 Duration is billed in wall-clock time as long as the Object is active, but is shared across all requests active on an Object at once. Once your Object finishes responding to all requests, it will stop incurring duration charges. Calling accept() on a WebSocket in an Object will incur duration charges for the entire time the WebSocket is connected. If you prefer, use state.acceptWebSocket() instead, which will stop incurring duration charges once all event handlers finish running.

5 Duration billing charges for the 128 MB of memory your Durable Object is allocated, regardless of actual usage. If your account creates many instances of a single Durable Object class, Durable Objects may run in the same isolate on the same physical machine and share the 128 MB of memory. If the JSON is local, then depending on the size of the JSON you can bundle it into the worker

also I prefer not to re-open the existing ticket to avoid causing confusion for the support team. However, Cloudflare is not allowing me to submit new tickets, which leaves me feeling as though I'm being forced to pay random bills.

itty-durable (current version) basically did the following:

PROS:

brought RPC [years] before the official RPC release (which is great, btw)
added auto persistence
added some middleware convenience to access DOs by string ID (which is super common... as you likely want a DO based off some other identifier)

CONS:

required itty-router because the middleware was required to wire up the Worker side of the RPC calls

The NEXT version (upcoming) shrinks drastically as a result of the recent RPC changes, so for only 400 bytes you get:

auto persistence
persist to/from any data store, not just the default DO storage (e.g. persist to/from D1, KV, R2, supabase, an external API, whatever)
no router requirements... works with any/no router at all (hono, itty, vanilla, etc)

I want to try and make a application using CloudFlare. I can host the frontend app in Pages and Backend on Workers but I am trying to find a solution for Authentication.

These are my current choices:

Use a CloudFlare service for Auth if there is one (Couldn't find one) I need one with Sign in With Google, MFA, Sending Forget Email from Own Domain
Implement it using CloudFlare D1 + Worker but writing the code on my own like using the argon2 library and other libraries.

Please advise, I would ideally like to use a pre-built service from CloudFlare
