Ideas/ messages for social media posts/ tweets

It would be cool to make more posts and tweets that also represent the community more, and this project should be the place for people to write those potential posts and post ideas.

Idea for social media or potentially longer form op ed! My background is in civil engineering. We aim for incredibly low risk of failure when designing critical infrastructure like bridges and dams. And the engineer must pass licensing exams in order to be able to sign off on designs. It could be interesting to have a series of posts with guests from different engineering/science/medical backgrounds discuss safety standards in their disciplines, and compare and contrast that to what is happening with reckless AI development. Or could just pull existing quotes/stats from lit review.

Love it! Maybe as a fun short video, where one character represents the "civil engineer" who builds bridges, and the other one the "ai engineer" who works at OpenAI. They are interviewed seperately, but edited in such a way where their remarks are contrasted. The civil engineer talks about the strict regulations, the AI engineer says "no regulation whatsoever". Civil: "these are the testing processes, standardized through x and y" ai: "we just deploy the model and see what happens". Civil: "I make calculations to determine the internal structure, we do thorough research on how to predict how the materials behave", ai: "we have absolutely no idea how these models work, we just put in more data and they gain new capabilities, lol"

Another aspect is guidelines policies and traing/practice for things to talk about when being interviewed. Now I haver had two interviews myself here in Norway, but I sort of try to figure out the approach on my own.

not sure how the amount of teams is relevant here? IMO it's important to get input from a wide range of people, not just from the social media team. To this date, I still write / come up with almost every single social media post. It's a big bottleneck.

What I experience is that several of the channels are too specific. Like the alignment channel. If it was renamed to a broader category like AI-risk-research it could encompass research on alignment, controll problem, evals, safety meassures snd more but in an «academic frame»

This «project» topic is fairly specific and that could make sense as a project with a narrow scope. But social media posts in my opinion should be part of a wider continous process of communication and public relations and is very core to an activist organization like PauseAI and it really woulf make sende to have such a channel. Maybe there are other less core channels that could be «deprecated»?
