So a simple bash script, could gitclone a malware .rpm, layer it, without sudo, force the pc to reboot. . .

or could a polkit rule protect a user from this?

Operations such as changing kernel arguments, installing a local package, rebasing to another image, etc. will thus be removed from the current Polkit rule and will now require the administrator password, similarly to calling it via sudo.

I might be wrong but I thing I've seen the "Device is active" error when I've had raid enabled in the bios

the issue was one of the extra patches we added was partially incomplete: https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/pull/1200/commits/88e48c75883b064c6288bf5277ab5ab710b49c54 it was never an issue in upstream gamescope, it just happened at the same time we switched to upstream gamescope
