From the first-time-user POV the entire bazzite experience and everything i could find (no i did not find FAQ with any of my searches) mislead me to think that I need the GPD-specific variant to get all my buttons and shit working
you can run multiple applications at the same time(game and spotify and browser) all while in game mode, and if you dont want game mode then its still possible to remove gamemode and boot into the desktop every time
in saying that i'd rather we just didn't have a separate GPD image if it brings people in just for them to get angry about not having installed the less opinionated version that runs worse and pisses casual users off on said devices
I really do not think new user experience should be "go read the entire documentation" when you have "new user guide"[1] that does not mention any of this. The closest to it is the "oh btw there is also game mode docs here" - guess what, still doesn't explain that you're not getting linux experience when you install this linux image.
(1 file if you want to have a touch keyboard for login) build image boom you got an SDDM login screen and get to keep gamemode (except "return to gamemode" and "switch to desktop" just logs you out now)
why do we not provide this? it is an unsupported configuration and it is not worth our time to maintain an image to just remove 2 files for you.
