SYou would think, with the amount of money Nvidia make, they would make stuff open source, pure greedy company, keeping things prioprority
VThe answer to why is because their enterprise are often used on Linux for server. They don't want "enterprise" features to be unlocked on consumer cards which are locked at a driver-level.
Tthose who are reverse engineered drivers are being contracted out by several different companies
Tincluding valve and i think red hat
Tcollabora too who especially want this done
