compiled kernel and everything on his horrible hp laptop. he had no idea what he was doing but followed documentation and the compile took i think 1 week
Played it today a bit via Lutris, everything works normally, even DLSS. Didn't think to check for RTX but it's fully playable without any noticeable drawbacks
Thank you guys. I just mean... if he wants to install stuff by himself ... I think lutris would be too "hacky"
But I guess, if I preinstall all the different launchers, it'd be fine. Everything on Steam would be top tier, I don't worry about steam. But also anti cheat maby ...
I think another thing to consider when getting people into Linux is Lutris isn’t the only option. It does the job, but you can also just install it via Steam “Add to library” function. You’re bound to run into some space issues in the prefix, but it worked for my use-cases without ever fiddling with Lutris.
Don't forget that Diablo 4 is in the Steam storefront now so it may work that way without any fiddling, if he doesn't have it there alternative methods will be necessary, but otherwise it might ease it for users
I haven’t heard any of that, but I know that they probably saw the Steam Deck and went “ah, this is actually a match made in heaven with our ARPG”. So they been pretty cool.
Yea.. but you know.. converting from xbox to Linux... with a whole library, that is fully playable on Windows (I THINK) would be weird to not use it ...
but yea.. as I wrote earlier with the others... I think I will talk with him again and discuss this. Sucks that MS doens't give us a proper xbox app ( i prefer steam anyway.. but still)
