the company has xbox controllers now with the same aesthetic, but I can't justify buying another $50 controller just to fix a tiny issue that never comes up in 99% of games
Anyone by any chance uses gnome network displays on bazzite? I can't get it to work, it just says "error" and nothing else, i installed it from the discover
I'm just trying to experiment with things, like, i don't really need to cast My screen to a tv, but i think it's cool to Say i CAN if i want so im learning stuff
I have 4 ssd connected to my pc 1 windows 1 bazzite and 2 for games and data from what I understand is sharing a disk between both os is not recommended and I want to share the games disk and from what I read i can use btrfs better for compatibility
Howdy all, I'm mid-move from windows to fulltime linux, and been distro hopping. Came across Jorge's bluefin vids and got hooked. Currently trying out Aurora, but, I am a bit confused if it was the best choice overall, and having a few other issues. Hoping to find some advice to move forward for the final base system. Been a linux admin for ... a very long time ;p But, that is server/hosting. Desktop is a whole new thing. I was Really close to settling on Garuda before seeing Jorge's container-model. Issues: -Bazzite, Bluefin or Aurora. -btrfs or zfs base (I'm leaning btrfs, but moved to zfs on lab/server) -AMD issues... 7900xtx, what are the best drivers (incl. rocm) and, how to tell which I have.. and, how best to install them under OCI? -Audio problem. Every linux distro exhibits for me, ALC1220 (Realtek). Audio ports all fubar. I flail-fixed it -once- losing it after reboot, and cannot replicate -_-)
-Ryzen 5900, 64g, Aurous gaming7 x470, Rad.7900xtx -Gen. work, some gaming (wow, star citizen, eve, rpg not fps) -AI workloads. This is the tough one. Need to get stablediff to work at best speed, and windows cannot do rocm. (zluda dead). Do LLMs and voice also, and I expect accel-AI to be in games/apps galore soon.
I mean they're all based on fedora atomic (ublue) each version comes with an assortment of different things in the iso. I'm not sure about work (it depends what you mean I guess) But for gaming Bazzite has gotten my old gaming PC back up and running after replacing windows
it comes with the tools to manage game related stuff OOTB so you don't really have to install anything other than grab proton-GE 9.7 (which you can do OOTB)
just installed, working really well so far! however hdr is not working on my hdr compatible tv with an HDMI 2.0 cable. If I go to Settings > Display, the Enable HDR toggle is greyed out and states 'Current display does not support HDR'. Is this something I need to enable outside of gaming mode? I'm using a AMD 6700 XT if that helps
You can rebase between Bazzite and Bluefin, though if you'll install Steam anyway just go for Bazzite. Just beware switching between DEs as it isn't recommended through rebasing.
it turns out my TV input was in compatibility mode since it was labeled as 'computer', so it was technically restricted to HDMI 1.4 functionality. Fixed now
Work means needing full audio/vid-cam/window sharing through Teams, and a win-only cloud-voip app, plus global-protect vpn for some internal web access. I haven't fully figured out the best way to accommodate that yet. Made a win10 VM on server, and testing out the remote audio via RDP. I use a lot of screen realestate while working.
I'm currently on Aurora, and not quite sure how the apps/pkgs are best installed, etc, or how to see what is installed. I'm new to Radeon on linux, and have not had great exp. on win with it either. (Moved from 2080) .
I did notice 'ujust setup-virtualization' isn't in aurora, though... so I am assuming there is a lot of diff there between the spins.
I assumed btrfs was the better of the two for desktops, and my first times using it on laptop/garuda to undo a borked upgrade was monumentally satisfying. zfs snaps on my server have also been insanely effective. (My son's ultra modded minecraft server gets snapped multiple times/day... ) The idea of slow full copy backups (as first line) is a joke now, never again ;p
