TDo keep in mind you can’t use modern forwarding, so it won’t be as secure
Amodern forwarding means just I can use servers without open the port?
TModern forwarding is just the most secure way to forward player information to backend servers
TOtherwise iirc you have to use legacy forwarding mode
TNot sure why you’d want to run a 1.8.8 paper server but to each their own
Aso you recommend using a paper 1.13+ and use viabackwards?
TPlayers still won’t be able to connect below 1.13

DNo, you still need to port forward the backend if you're going over the internet.
