Mnvidia gpu being the main thing there
Zim running in wayland. But never had this wild case of flickering
Hif that matters at all, ive had less flickering on my dual gpu laptop (only steam would go wild actually)

Hsync issues exist on both x11 and wayland, they're just more pronounced on wayland in most cases
MI also had stuff liek as you type it would display what u type along with what u had typed all at once kind of

Myes on x11 u would not even think of em as sync issues
