KYou can set the resolution per game in game mode, but you are always better setting it via the game settings themselves
KGame mode will scale it up as needed, and you can change the scaling type
Mye i do that in some games like Diablo 4, it can go to 900p via the steam setting but not 720
Mi tried using window mode to see if it would change (because before it defaults window fullscreen)
KThat is a workaround that Chimera OS developed, 720p is the only setting you can't use

KThat's because that's the default, so if it didn't behave as native every single game in game mode would run at 720p by default
KFor those you can just set it in the game settings and not in Steam game mode which is why that's always preferable

KDeck images boot straight to game mode but you probably don't want that
KOn desktop images there is no game mode session, but you can make a shortcut to steam big picture mode if you want
