Layering a desktop environment is a lot of layering and will put you in a bad place, with slow updates and a high chance of dependency issues

Rebasing from one desktop environment to another leaves you with a ton of dot files in your home directory that don't apply to your current desktop environment, can cause problems

Okay, thanks. Nearly everything was working perfectly for me currently even with Wayland and 550 drivers. When I suspended my laptop, changed scaling or it went to sleep/hybernation then screen tearing started. I am not sure if this is related to 550 nvidia drivers.
