That's what my media PC is, foobar2000 adds all that to a dynamically searchable library with zero perceivable lag. I can find a album with like, 3 button presses or search a entire genre or year like that too.
Meanwhile in Linux on like Clementine/Audacious/deadbeef it just freezes when I try that.

I've been able to get Audacious to run with ALSA Output, with that I can play Hi-Res audio as it is.

Pipewire has wrappers around alsa/pulseaudio/jack so most things end up routed there unless you change that I think

Yeah, my reality was just buying a little mini ATX box to deal with it.
Someday I will figure out installing Foobar2000 on Linux in a way that has zero issues, or maybe Peter will just finally port it over.

Pretty good actually, there is dedicated music players for mobile (Finamp) and in desktop it also runs in app/browser quite nice

I also have really complicated music library setup. It's actually iTunes library on a NAS because I have iPod and MacBook. Jellyfin is pointed into the contents of that library and picks everything up for non-Apple devices.
