RI'm on the edge of ordering a kit from him as well, but I'm just not sure I have the time and patience to build it myself and troubleshoot it until it works

OI'm also in the Dad crowd. I would happily go Moza/etc but I'm not sure about their software for DCS which can be really tumultuous to develop around.
DFrom what Ive got, it shouldnt take too long actually and thats with me being absolutely incapable of working with wires. Like absolutely nothing. I can tune triple webbers for you in like 3 tries but if it has a wire, my brain melts

I’ve got two of my own and I know lots of the other guys do too so I get it for sure.
For what it’s worth once you assemble all the parts the Rhino build takes about 5hrs.
So it’s not a “weekend project” it’s basically an afternoon into evening project
It’s super straightforward and actually a lot easier than it looks so if you decide you’d rather not wait..
Try the DIY you’ll see it’s not so bad and as you know it’s a great feeling to DIY.

TOne issue is I’m in the USA so shipping for some folks won’t be as quick as it was for me OR maybe if you’re in the EU like Walmis it might be faster.

TNice I’m east coast we live outside DC so the hub is close is probably why we get it fast but for sure it’s not a long wait.
TThe kits don’t have a wait time it’s basically if they are in stock or not

JOK so ignorance on my part, what comes in the kit? Is it literally the entire thing but just has to be put together?
TYeah I call it the sweet spot honestly.
It’s close enough to the city we can pack the kids up for the zoo or hit the Baltimore aquarium.
It’s also close enough to WVA we can go crazy hikes or camping and take the kids to the 4H center (we just got back from a 4H Cloverbud camp lol)

BMotors and controller, rest need to be sourced, but i think someone else here sell a kit of 3d printed parts and bits.
TSo it’s perfect… just enough city for real life and just enough yard for a couple dogs

HWorked right after completion. Hard to mess something up tbh. The instructions are quite clear.
JAh ya, see this sounds painful haha... I'd rather just pay for the thing pre-built. Call me crazy but I'm having a hard time just finding time to review this stuff, yet alone make one.
HThe kit from @SR-FWinger[73]_David is complete. The only(!) thing missing is the motors and logic board which come as a kit from walmis, You don‘t need to source anything but the PSU
BYesh I just didn't have a space to do it, and my 3d printer is 'meh' at best so I just chilled in the cue.

OI'm with you! I am interested in commercial but none seems good enough yet.
HIt really isn’t much harder than LEGO.

HThe Rhino, DIY or pre-build is easily en par with commercial options (well, apart from the surface finish perhaps). What sets it apart is the software and support!
BOnce you have all the parts yeah, but also having to rub 3 years of dust off a printer, re tune it for two new materials, hunt for bearings, nuts and parts between mouser and alibaba.. I just waited.
Now though, if I could get a kitbash and motor kit, I definitely would have gone that way

HPrinting the parts yourself and sourcing all the hardware is definitely the critical part. That’s where the DIY-kit comes in handy.
TWe need a cheap option for the masses… sure the Rhink and others will be the big dogs but I want to see the small dogs fly again and I’m no hater to see it
