OP

7/8/24, 7:00 AM
anything with an EFI vbios rom should be fine
P

OP
•
7/8/24, 7:00 AM
i think a 1050 could work
?
P
Pez
OP
•
7/8/24, 7:01 AM
ok
technically
even that isn
't a dealbreaker
. but if you want to run windows10
+ you would probably need it
. fortunately everything from that generation onwards should be fine
.

M

7/8/24, 7:05 AM

7/8/24, 7:05 AM
Does 1060 use external power
?
A
asen23
•
7/8/24, 7:05 AM
I think if i ever buy one i would prefer card without external power
A
asen23
•
7/8/24, 7:05 AM
So 75w tdp or less
A
asen23
So 2000 series or newer?

P

P

OP
•
7/8/24, 7:11 AM
yeah and if your card doesn
't come with one but another vendor ships a EFI supporting rom for the same GPU
, you can just shadow it through qemu
P
Pez
OP
•
7/8/24, 7:11 AM
it
's not the end of the world even if a card doesn
't have it by default it just complicates things a fair bit

basically if you find your exact card model there
P

OP

7/8/24, 7:19 AM
and then the rom for it says UEFI supported
P

7/8/24, 7:19 AM
it
's a sure bet
P

OP
•
7/8/24, 7:20 AM
i think you really shouldn
't have an issue with anything this modern
, most GPUs post
-2014 were
required
to have it for compatability with new chipsets
P

OP
•
7/8/24, 7:20 AM
it
's harder to find a GPU that doesn
't until you
're looking at ten year old stuff

hmm I remember some msi nvidia doesnt have uefi support for it
