Writing to Newspapers

Why: Writing Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor (LTEs) to local newspapers is a great way to get the word out about AI risk and solutions. You can reach an audience of thousands who might otherwise not have heard of AI risk.

Plus, politicians monitor newspapers for coverage of what voters are thinking - so this doubles as a way to bring the issue to the forefront of their minds.

What you can do:
- Read through these slides to learn more about LTEs and op-eds, and how to write & submit them.
- Write an LTE or op-ed yourself! If you want other people to take a look, you can send your writing to this project page for feedback.
- Submit your LTE/op-ed to your local newspaper(s)!
- When you get published, send a link to the article and let us know 🙂
