The latter two would likely be more plug and play, and easier to get.
The rhino will be more customisable, and feature more odd case software features sinply because of its open source nature and generally impressive speed and quality of the telemffb guys.
Any support issues from winwing and moza, well. That would be the same as with those already. Your usual CE support headache.
Thatβs always going to be software dependent (as well as what the games themselves do)
So far just honestly speaking the Rhino software is king over the current group (Brunner and beast) and I donβt expect the others to be betterβ¦ software wise Winwing is usually a hard sell and who knows what Moza software will be likeβ¦
Not spoken here but IMHO VP Rhino will be much better supported in software and options and for general realism of feel.
Moza and WinWing are going to be a while getting the software right especially WW. Customer support as mentioned above well WW support sucks your basically talking to a guy in China for a few weeks, it's certainly not a quick return and replace issue with WW. Moza customer support will be same as most western companies and easier to replace or get issues sorted.
Customer support here on VP from what I have seen seems to be the best offered.
TLDR to get the best FFB option available for sub $1000 get the VP Rhino but it's going to take a while to get to the top of the order Queue!
I also think itβs important to check on large purchases so by signing up and hanging out in the discord you can get a first hand look at how things work.
Iβm also on the other discords and thatβs what drove me toward the Rhino was watching the community for awhile
Nothing wrong with any of the other FFB discords and companies.
But itβs something RIGHT about the Rhino and this community of enthusiast and flight people..
I saw flight people because easily 50% of the Rhino community are former or current pilots so we know what βin flight inertiaβ feels like and we know what stick pressures exist in real life and, for the chopper guys they know what the trim βshouldβ be like.
Iβm glad there are some other companies coming into the game but for me I want to see a $200 FFB stick along the lines of the old windows sticks.
Something cheap for entry level folksβ¦ No it wonβt be strong but it would push ALL games and devs to work on FFB within the modules themselves which would be a massive boon to anyone running more powerful motors.
The best thing for us is to wake the devs and the games up and to have them put FFB as a major dev priority.
Games like IL2 or MSFS would be pushed to take FFB serious again and the entry level sticks would shake up the game!
I've seen footage of someone using a Moza, that was released during FSE 2024, but considering when pre orders went live it was expressed some 4-6 week wait on delivery so will be some time before people having to buy their own units can put out reviews
pretty sure the early testers had to wait for the first software update to review the Moza which is why there aren't too many yet. the WW base is far out.
Hey guys, if im preordering the rhino and want to go with a stronger motor like an 86bl instead of the 57bl that it comes with, would I specify that in the order or would I need to buy them separately and install them?
Yeah I think it will be fine, was just wondering if it would be something I could modify or change in the future. How comparable would the max resistance be to a warthog stick
With Onshape's App Store, modern CAD users can choose to add specialty engineering software such as simulation, CAM, or rendering to their cloud workspace
You can specify all the parameters you need and you can export the model to anything you like. I output to SolidWorks, then load it into Fusion 360 for special features like bearing pockets.
The motor to pulley belt is 15mm, the pulley to flight controls belt is 12mm. The two idlers in the upper left attach to existing structure that's too narrow to pass a 15mm belt.
There were like 100 to go when I got my βaction requiredβ email. That was just a few weeks ago. It moved so fast after that and I got it earlier this week. It caught me off guard since I also needed to order a mounting plate from SimFab. But happy to report I got it installed today and first flight in DCS Apache was awesome.
