JI don't imagine there's any easily accessable USB ports to plug in a keyboard and fix stuff
Japparently the biggest oh crap moment is that if you got bitlocker you can't get to safe mode to fix it without the key

CI keep a copy of my work laptop bitlocker key for whenever an automatic firmware update borks it
Pkeeping in mind the cheapest way for vendors to produce a self-serve kiosk is to just hide a NUC inside a big rectangular safe with a touchscreen on the front
CImagine a self service kiosk using something newer than XP
CMy favourite is the DOS based POS systems still in use
Pany decent corpo stopped doing that and moved their kiosks up to win7+
