KYou can change it at the lock screen, at boot it uses a config that's in a read-only directory
KThere's an open issue with KDE to fix that
TI’m testing it right now. Game Mode is still a black screen, after a reboot it has been “Verifying Installation” for like 15 minutes.

KZero, game mode is it's own session completely divorced from your desktop environment

LAnd now it froze just because I opened the status and notification tray, and it doesn't seem to stop freezing (like before).

Ta good way to test is if a nvidia user chooses the breeze theme instead of the default which is vapor
