I always had issue with the decky plugin + flatpak version, maybe you wont, but if you do, another option is to download the syncthing bin from their site and create a systemd user service file to run it automatically, then you can access it via the web ui whenever and it should stay running in both desktop and game mode automatically

since f40 i've been running all my hdr games directly from the desktop via launch options, ex ENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 gamescopeENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 gamescope , is there a better way to do it in the last couple months? IIRC the implementation relied on some code meant for testing only from https://github.com/Drakulix/VK_hdr_layer

That layer is not used in Gamescope anymore regardless of environment, it has its own layer that implements HDR.
