I think I'm just running away from any distro that uses either flatpak, distrobox, layered rpm, or whatever fancy things that make everything more complicated in the name of security. If I've downloaded a thing, and run it. I've given my consensus for it to do whatever stuff it wants to do! I don't even need a software store front, automatic updates or anything. Next distro for me will maybe be Arch Linux, and two days later, probably back to Windows^^...
I don't think it's so much about security but just way more hard to break, just like Android and SteamOS. It's be working great ootb instead of making things work your way, I like that I can just run the installer, open Steam, and play!
