I've been thinking about swapping from kde to gnome - curious what problems arise if i don't do a full reinistall?
KIt will cause many problems
KIt's all kinds of things that can break, that's why we don't recommend it
KThat makes your install borderline unsupportable
KYou can make a new user to get around it, but you can't do that on deck images because your user must be ID 1000
KSo we always recommend a fresh reinstall if you're going to change DE

KAs far as I know, if you're using Nvidia you want to be on Gnome currently

CThe only thing bothering me on kde/nvidia/wayland right now is firefox crashing but I've just been using brave in the meantime
KHuh I didn't know this. Is there any reason X11 is bad apart from "Wayland fixes technical/security issues in X11" (i.e. will any apps not work, etc)

GI found with GNOME magnifying caused screen tearing, on KDE it didn't
Gwondering if this is a KDE issue-on X11 it lags randomly (doesn't blackscreen though unlike Wayland)
AWayland is also partly why gamescope and gamescope-session (aka game mode) are even possible. So Wayland indirectly contributed to the Steam Deck 
KSo what I'm hearing is Gnome Wayland, and if I get weird errors just fallback to Gnome X11 for my Nvidia system
KI prefer KDE but I can live with Gnome.
Aeh, I don't necessarily know if Gnome will be any better though.

Amy rule of thumb has been, if I intend on running Linux, don't get Nvidia. period.

Aif it's something that requires extensive troubleshooting, probably better to post in #bazzite-help , since devs might not necessarily be around. having it there will make it easier to track
