When using the streams product, if I stream in an RTMP(s) feed, and want to use an RTMP(s) player, is there anyway to pass what bitrate I want? For example, if I'm using FFMPEG or similar to playback the stream, being able to select the stream quality would be nice.

It would be cool if any stream traffic coming from cname would be sent via webhook/api to my app for auth - instead of forcing us to create inputs for each stream. I have 2,500 end points for customers and it will be a pain replacing each stream key.

RTMP output is direct passthrough, there's no encoding done by Stream when outputting to RTMP (only to HLS). So whatever you put in is whatever you get out.

In regards to HLS, yes you can set bitrate - with HLS, the stream is split into multiple streams (which are each chunked - that's what results in the ~20s delay) and then the browser or player decides on the stream that is closest to the resolution/bitrate it wants.

Hi everyone.

I'm interested in using CloudFlare WebRTC for an existing application. The server is written in python using aiortc, so I tried to port the example index.html to python (the example works).

However I can't get my example to work.
sessions/newsessions/new returns 500 "Backend error". The sdp should be valid, as SRS and Janus both are able to deal with it.

Scripts and logs are attached. In cloudflare.py replace app_id, app_secret and the url in MediaPlayer. Using python 3.11.9, aiortc==1.8.0

Hey guys i've got a problem..
We are copying a hosted video on vimeo via m3u8 stream link with the api and everything works fine except that cloudflare has the video only in 360p/480p even so the origin video is 1080p.
When i try the same with the 1080p mp4 video link then the resulting quality is correct and all lower resolutions are also there.
Anyone any ideas why cloudflare only gets the 360p link even so every other player (when consuming the vimeo m3u8 stream link) shows the 1080p quality option?

I've posted this question in the help channel and was redirected over here so i tested a bit further and tried the same api command twice with different results.
Once it did 1080p and once it only did 480p.. so something seems off...

Any update on low latency HlS video stream via obs ? Vimeo has like 10 second delay which is pretty good.

Right now we use webrtc from cloudflare HLS via Vimeo. We still cannot switch fully to cloudflare m, cause they still did not address these two major issue any serious video streaming company will have :

Lack of WEBRTC playback on demand
And low latency HLS streaming (currently cloudflare delay can be more than 1 minute which is ridiculous in todays standard )

by combining the special /thumbnail//thumbnail/ path also documented on there and the ?poster=?poster= you can customise which frame of the video is shown, or supply any other arbitrary image url

We use Stream with Signed URLs required for our videos. I just tested out the new AI-generated captions feature, but found that the generated captions didn't display anything during video playback. When I downloaded the caption file to inspect it, I saw that the file contents were: "401 unauthorized". Do I need to do something special to generate captions for these videos? I didn't see any mention of the AI captions being incompatible with Signed URLs in the documentation at https://developers.cloudflare.com/stream/edit-videos/adding-captions/#limitations so wanted to ask here.

This should work, I just tested to confirm and everything worked as expected on my end. Are you able to reproduce the captions not displaying during playback consistently? I would try deleting the generated captions and generating them again. They do take a little bit of time to finish generating depending on the length of the video. If you can reproduce this consistently, could you DM me a video UID where you're seeing this issue?

If you're trying to retrieve the captions on a video with Signed URLs enabled, you will need to use either the v4 API (documented here) or via https://customer-<CODE>.cloudflarestream.com/<TOKEN>/captions/enhttps://customer-<CODE>.cloudflarestream.com/<TOKEN>/captions/en. https://customer-<CODE>.cloudflarestream.com/<VIDEO_UID>/captions/enhttps://customer-<CODE>.cloudflarestream.com/<VIDEO_UID>/captions/en will return a 401 with signed URLs enabled.

The API works, but Stream web UI doesn't work for videos requiring Signed URLs: You can create a new AI-generated English caption, you can wait for it to be in the "Ready" state and then "Download" from the "..." menu. But the downloaded en.vtten.vtt file just contains text "401 unauthorized".

Captions aside, the Stream UI is challenging to use for videos that require signed URLs. There are no previews or poster images visible, so navigation is limited by either filename or record-keeping in an external system.

Hey Folks, I'm using CF Workers with Bun/hono/Drizzle/Lucia/D1 along with Stream. I'm trying to use TUS protocol in a React component to upload videos using this library (https://github.com/kqito/use-tus). I'm having a hard time to include my session Cookie on the initial tus request to CF worker endpoint protected by Lucia Auth - which will obtain the tus Location header. as response TUS works very well without the protected endpoint/without auth. It breaks when I make the CF worker endpoint protected, because react frontend isn't passing the cookie. Do you folks have any sample react code with tus implementation. In the Stream documentation, the code example uses vanilla js with Uppy library. I'm trying to implement tus using React.

Hey all, I'm trying to find a provider to serve HLS VoD content and CF Stream looks promising. One caveat is that I need my HLS content to have multi-channel audio encoded as separate streams. So for example:

video.m3u8video.m3u8 audio1.m3u8audio1.m3u8 audio2.m3u8audio2.m3u8

And a master master.m3u8master.m3u8 to sync everything.

I didn't see anything in the documentation about multi-channel / multiple-stream audio. Is this something that's supported?

is anyone using Uppy with TUS uploads for stream direct creator uploads? If I use the tus-upload python CLI client, it works fine - if I use the sample code from the CloudFlare docs in JS, every HTTP PATCH request fails. Is anyone else using WebRTC? Do you experience intermittent video stream while audio is fine? I have tried everything, LTE vs WIFI, tranceiver parameters (maxBitrate, maxFramerate), starting with just the basic <video> element on the page. It was working better a couple days ago so maybe it is CloudFlare servers?
