VTurns out it was all in vain because the program quits if it doesn't find an authentication protocol, even if run as root.
VEven though, if it finds one, it isn't used!

CStill getting audio dropouts over HDMI this morning (Ally X) - I thought it was connected to switching between docked and handheld, but last night I played docked on a fresh boot for a few hours without any issues, and this morning turning it back on I've got the half second pauses of silence every minute or so again, so it seems to be sleep related rather than dock related
