MI found a workaround to my problem
Mand that workaround is compiling a version of godot that someone else has a draft PR for that implements proper client-side window moving and resizing
CThe Godot boys are working on proper Wayland support last I heard

MI tried to fork the master branch for godot and merge this change into that fork but it couldn't automatically marge

CMit's still not "real" client-side decorations afaik, but it's better than what I was trying before
