For my LG C2, there is VRR info in the OSD. It shows if VRR is enabled, and the refresh rate fluctuates and does not stay fixed.

If your perf overlay is something similar, it should be the same way I would think. As in, if the refresh rate is not moving at all, VRR is not working.

The VRR is enabled through the QAM but the refresh rate is not changing at all, could this be an Ally X specific bug?

but flatpaks are usually graphical applications that attempt to containerize themselves from the system by having a permission-based model (like an android application) and they're nearly universal and run on most linux OSes

right, I reproduced that. Apparently you need to setup a bridge device first on the host then use that in the VM config. The bridging I used to do was with the virbr0virbr0 device, which just worked, since that is a bridge device. If that is insufficient for you, then I see there are some maybe relevant google results, e.g. https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-add-network-bridge-with-nmcli-networkmanager-on-linux
