Dwell besides crashing issues, and coming with a faulty SSD, i am super distrustful about the PSU, and overall build quality is cheap, and with the recent gamescope crashing i can't help but think its not an OS problem but a hardware problem
Abut I think DIY consoles will become very big if SteamOS ever gets an official release

KTotally agree, if you can slap it on a cheap mini-pc with a decent Ryzen APU and get good performance, 100% will happen
A6900HX mini PCs can be found right now for $300-400 USD or so, perfect candidate for a 1080p gaming HTPC

Di've been using this box for 1080p@120fps gaming on my sony X90L, the upscaling on the sony tv's is amazing, almost does not look like 1080p unless you really sit up close and see its slightly blurry
Dthe HDMI ports are 2.1 btw, they just don't advertise it for some reason

Dyea i think the HX99G has going for is its dGPU, its just a frankensteined laptop when you think about it, it probably did not cost minisforum that much though
DUSB4 is nice, i think that gives you options for an eGPU, no?
KIf you're buying a mini PC + egpu dock + GPU... just build a desktop, but yes it is possible

AI actually got really lucky with my HTPC build. My brother was basically getting rid of his 5600x + GTX1080, and gave it to me for free. so all I had to do was transplant it into the smaller case + pick up an AMD GPU + a power supply that fits
Aso I basically paid close to the price of a PS5 for my HTPC
Aotherwise I probably would've just ended up with a minisforum HTPC
