Shader water texture not used nearby, only in LOD

Transparency is enabled. Latest MC, Iris, DH and shader version.

The default texture for water shows close to me, whereas the distant LODs use the shader's texture for water. I'm wanting to use the shader texture, but can't figure out how to fix it. I've also tried installing a transparent texture for the water, but it keeps its colour and doesn't adopt the shader's effects

can you try replacing iris with iris beta 3
