Bazzite handheld: touch input registers as mouse after opening a game

I have a Deck OLED running bazzite and i have a weird issue. When i first boot up the device, touch input works like it should, but after i launch a game, it acts like a mouse. this doesn't allow me to swipe in menus

it's not a dealbreaker, just a tad annoying. thanks in advance!!
