CThat happened to me accidentally already a few times as well. Happens easily when turning on the device. Since then I Always check it‘s set properly.

HI have VP config (two instances) and TelemFFB always open while flying DCS because I am constantly fine tuning my profiles. I doubt that this is the reason for your issues.
