Thrifting Tips?
What are some of your favorite tips for thrifting?
I never really grew up doing it, and usually I prefer to buy my clothes new from outlets or on clearance.

go to the thrift store and look at stuff until you find something cool
dig through all the racks
that's pretty much all there is to it
If you can, go on Mondays and Tuesdays to catch the weekend donations. Sundays can also be good. Always check the new racks when they bring them out.
Depends on what kinda stuff you are looking for
Earlier in the day cannnn be better than later in the day but not a hard and fast rule
go somewhere that isn't a goodwill at some point! see if there's any charity stores near you, there are like 3 around me that I didnt know about until last year
I didn't think of this, good idea
I've looked at hard goods and housewares, but never clothes
Is the thrifting better or worse in the rich neighborhoods?
Ime it doesn’t make a noticeable difference to be worth going out of your way
It all gets spread around
The vast majority of stuff in thrift stores these days is fast fashion trash. Becoming familiar with the brands, materials, and types of clothing you want will help alot. Thrifting is a numbers game. The more often you go the more likely you are to find something good, but the first step is to know what good is
I've been blessed to have been raised by a mother who used to work in the finest department store in town, so she taught me all the best things to look for in clothes. The brands, the cut, the construction, the fabric. Really scrutinize all of it. But it really is all about the numbers of the game.
bring a measuring tape, especially if there's no fitting rooms available
I’ve had some pretty 50/50 luck at thrift stores lol
Sometimes the sweaters are practically falling apart 😭
there's no shame in going to a thrift store and not buying anything - you don't have to settle for something mid for the sake of a deal or brand name
Yeah this is great advice, I'm getting to the point in my life that I just refuse to buy anything if it does not absolutely spark joy and tick all of my boxes
