Games not booting, Installing, etc

Hey there, I'm experiencing multiple issues with launching games on my system, and I hope someone can assist me fix them. Below are the problems I'm facing, along with logs (I hope those help) : 1. Games That Boot but Take a Very Long Time: - Some games start, but they take an excessively long time to load or boot up. - Log File: Game Boot Log 2. Games Stuck on Installing Redistrubutables Packages: - A few games are stuck during installation, specifically on the "Installing Redistributables" step, and don't progress beyond that point. they do show up as a Discord Rich Presence - Log File: Installation Log 3. Games That Say They Are Launching But Don't Actually Start: - Some games appear to launch but then remain in a "Launching" state, and nothing further happens. The games don't start or show any activity beyond this. - Log File: Launching Log Additional Information: - Steps already taken: - Verified game files - Restarted the system :p Thanks in advance!

sometimes it takes a long time for the "installing redistributables" step

can you confirm you have all the wine dependencies as mentioned in https://discord.com/channels/812703221789097985/1044301598018515105 ? also, maybe try enabling UMU in settings > advanced > experimental features, you should delete the prefix folder for each game before relaunching them with UMU so the prefix are re-generated

i will certainly try that tomorrow though as it's getting late thanks btw They seem to be booting now, thanks One last question How long should it take average for an game to launch

first time always longer if its grabbing dependencies otherwise, depends on your hardware

I Recently upgraded my CPU and I reinstalled my OS and feel like it takes a lot longer to launch than before now Might be because I used another proton version before

CPU generally doesnt have much impact on load times that mainly depends on your disk so if you have a spinning disk hard drive, it will be slow, if you have an nvme ssd it will be fast if you have a stat III ssd, it will be somewhere in the middle

got an ssd it takes about 12-14 second for games to boot I could swear it was alot faster before even for small games I could swear it was faster before

i mean unless you measured it before and after its hard to say in any case load times are almost entirely dictated by hard drive speed
