Looking for a casual gray overcoat!
I will mainly be wearing it casually. I want to get one that will last a long while, but not sure where to look, here are some of my criteria that may help with the search:
- Budget $1,000 USD, but willing to go to $1,500 if I REALLY like it
- Must be available in brick-and-mortar stores in the Bay Area or Chicago (I hate the process of waiting for long deliveries and delivery returns, I'd rather just try it on in the store and call it a day; honestly this might be the hardest criterion to meet). I prefer not to buy second hand
- Color: looking for gray, medium to light gray. Open to herringbone pattern!
- Single-breasted, notched lapel
- Knee-length, so a proper overcoat, not a topcoat or car coat that's mid-thigh
- Plain style, without much going on, for example I do not like belts, huge cuff adjusters on the wrists, many pockets (especially if they have large and thick flap covers)
- Material: wool, wool-alpaca, or wool-cashmere blend, with acetate or viscose lining
