Broadcom Wi-Fi interface not detected even after ujust command on MBP

Hey all, I have a fresh bazzite install on a late 2011 MacBook Pro, and ujust configure-broadcom-wl isn't doing anything. My wifi interface isn't showing up under ifconfig, and the tray just says no available connections.
Here's the actual interface from lspci:

if sudo modprobe wlsudo modprobe wl doesnt fix it, then the network card might not be supported or the support for it is broken upstream, the broadcom wifi driver is craptastic

we dont make the wl module so would be an upstream thing, dont know how long it would have been broken

I found this issue on bazzite's repo, and that rpm-ostree install akmod-wl command just gives me a "Package not found: akmod-wl" Is that expected because it's old, or could that be part of the problem? @HikariKnight
