how to migrate from 001 migrations --> 002 migrations if a table already exist, this error confusing via wrangler. all example is writter from empty table not an existed one

your migrations shouldn't be trying to create a table that already exists, but you can update your SQL to

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS

to avoid the error. it sounds like there's something wrong with your setup if you already have tables and are trying to run migrations to create them, though.

^ migrations are not meant to be indempotent, instead there's usually a table created within the DB that stores the migration name/ID and whether it's already been applied

Does the Prisma CLI connect to your D1 DB to verify that the table doesn't already exist? It shouldn't be giving you SQL to create the table if the table already exists.

It's very hard to troubleshoot unless you give the (manually changed) statement. The error you shared indicates that it's trying to do something it shouldn't be.

An error is still returned if the table cannot be created because of an existing index, even if the "IF NOT EXISTS" clause is specified.

i got lock in here, if you read this if we use --from-schema-datamodel --from-url we cant since binding is via wrangler not url like postgress, we also cant use

The root issue is that you're trying to create a table when one already exists... Prisma shouldn't be generating/running queries to create a table if it's already present.

That's what I mean. D1 is trying to apply the migration called 0002_create_position_table.sql but it's already been applied so it fails.

Migrations shouldn't be applied twice, the fact that it is indicates the table tracking which migrations have been applied isn't working.

Hmmm maybe you kinda confused, the 002 is still not been applied cause i checked the number of table still on migration 001, moving 002 failed cause of double by of Prisma generate other table. Thus is due to prisma migrate diff cli, we can't do beside from --from-empty
