@bsherman @Kyle Gospo is there a reason why we use negativo17-fedora-nvidia in akmods instead of negativo17-fedora-multimedia during the akmods build for nvidia?

At least for bluefin/aurora we end up using fedora-multimedia during the build instead of fedora-nvidia that is enabled when akmods is built

It’s because nvidia is supposed to be a subset of multimedia which only has nvidia in it. So they should be identical and shouldn’t need both.

But in practice, sometimes they are out of sync.

Simone has stated one shouldn’t need to use both.

I’m not sure if the proper solution given the repos can be out of sync

Recap while on my phone

Primarily we should be checking that kmod version matches repo library versions. We can do this in the nvidia-install.sh we share between bazzite bluefin aurora.

Bluefin Bazzite already use just multimedia. Which is fine except for short periods when the repos are out of sync.

We could remove the repo file from our ublue nvidia addons. Or change it to be multimedia.

But still we will want to check for version diff

how did you get the bootc-image-builder to work with bluefin-lts?

I'm getting this, but I would think bluefin would get a similar def file error for bluefin-41bluefin-41 since there aren't any defs for bluefin either
