Not much to worry about at all actually. If you are using our procedural meshes, like road/terrain, you need to bake them do static meshes, but no need to do anything with the scattering etc!

Your solution is pretty valid yes! But there exist two, maybe easier ways.

If it is a large landscape:
1. Scatter on the full landscape/surface
2. Draw a circular curve around the tree and use Object Mask (instead of proximity mask)
3. Object Mask has this keep inside setting and Optimize for Curves which makes sure the scatter is only inside the curve

If it is a smaller landscape maybe easier:
1. Scatter on the full landscape/surface
2. Use the tree in Proximity Mask and invert it (right click on the Distance Parameter to invert it)
3. And then you can play with Distance and Width to get a nice look

My guess would be that you are in Game Mode. Make sure to click anywhere in the viewport and then press G on your keyboard, that toggles game mode on and off

Yes! If you scatter directly from the Dash content browser, select the cables, then ctrl drag and drop and select scatter on selected

The scatter will of course adjust if you change the cable tool

We have our own Terrain Tool, which creates a procedural terrain mesh and lets us adjust and deform it. So the tool are linked directly to our own procedural mesh. So no, you can use the deformation capabilities on any other UE object. We have recently improved our terrain tool though, so now it is more performant and works better when marking it larger

If you haven't already you can type in higher values than you can slide. And after that you can scroll down to misc settings and increase the misc count as well

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well

I was hoping to get your advice on some snags I've been experiencing lately - I've been running into an issue where, after Unreal crashes or when I reopen my project, all my Scatter Nodes become uneditable. Dash no longer picks up on their presence, even though the scene itself remains unchanged—my references are still in, and the Dash Scene Data node is there as well.

I’m not sure what’s causing this, and I’d really appreciate some guidance

I want to keep the nodes editable for as long as possible, as my scene is quite dense and technical. Recreating all 20+ Scatter Nodes each time this happens wouldn’t be practical.

Do you have any insights into what might be causing this or any workarounds to prevent it?

It is easy to use our Grading presets in your own camera at least: dash-support

But afaik no easy way of copying all the settings as you mentioned

Good idea to fix a copy/export button but I think once we fix our camera with proper focus, it won't be needed as much

Aah, yee this can't be managed from there, that link is for managing your payment and subscription actually

This means you have to deactivate your license on another PC (through the license manager on that PC) before you can activate it here on this PC

If you don't have access to the other PC, let me know and send me your email/key in a DM and I can deactivate it remotely for you
