can workers have cache responses from data obtained from a KV database?
my initial idea is to have a worker that fetch content from an external API every two hours, data retrieved is processed to be saved on KV and then worker just sends data processed. however after looking into docs im not entirely sure how this response should be cached for two hours. the idea is to prevent someone refreshing the page to drain the amount of daily requests.

If you mean Workers requests, you can’t. While you can invoke the Cache API from within a Worker, this doesn’t prevent a Workers request from being consumed

If your Worker is on a custom domain, you can use firewall rules to protect against some bad actors, but this probably wouldn’t stop a user from just reloading like you suggested

I personally would recommend using aws4fetch with an S3 backend instead of KV for that. It’s much easier to do caching without wasting an extra subrequest.

Using a Static Asset Worker + the Asset binding, the docs say we should expect the same caching behavior - is this still true with run_worker_first enabled? I understand it will still hit the Worker, but then if the Worker calls the Asset binding with the request it receives, shouldn’t that return from cache if it has it? The reason I ask is we’re seeing a 0% cache hit rate with this, but maybe I’m missing something.

It won't impact zone caching percent though. It's confusing but that will say 0% but you may have like a 99.99% cache hit rate.

Yeah it just looks odd on the subrequests metrics as it looks like it’s never hitting cache, but I figured it was purely because the response time was ~20ms plus the issue I had last week not handling 304’s, but the dash made me confused

Nope, the key-value store built into a Durable Object will be separate to a KV Namespace - but you can access bindings from the DO if you want the storage shared between a Worker & a DO in KV

Hi all, I'm trying the possibility to deploy a full stack Astro application with Pages+Functions+Supabase Auth. I created a folder <rootproject>/functions/auth/<rootproject>/functions/auth/ containing signin.ts, signup.ts. In the documentation for local development, I can run npx wrangler pages dev <DIRECTORY-OF-ASSETS>npx wrangler pages dev <DIRECTORY-OF-ASSETS>. Can someone explain what is this directory of assets? Is it the dist folder created after running the command astro build? I tried npx wrangler pages dev distnpx wrangler pages dev dist. The web app can be opened in the local browser, but trying the signup button returns POST http://localhost:8788/auth/signup 405 (Method Not Allowed)POST http://localhost:8788/auth/signup 405 (Method Not Allowed).

the example is:

client calls API (on a worker), hitting an endpoint named /importRecipe/importRecipe
API worker passes the work off to a service worker recipe-importerrecipe-importer which kicks off a series of requests culminating in a LLM call that returns a stream (in this case an AsyncIterableStreamAsyncIterableStream, but I can convert that to a ReadableStreamReadableStream. I want to essentially relay this stream back to the API worker, which will relay it back to the client

What do you mean by manually? You will need to define a class in a Worker, bind it and deploy. The REST API only lets you list namespaces and objects within namespaces, not create

What happens if users upload abusive content? Will Cloudflare request its removal, or will they immediately ban my account?
