Hey @jeffsherwin moving your question to a new separate thread quick Q: is there a script for the megascan stuff with the correct formats? iterating manually through the entire library seems real tedious
For Quixel Bridge, we read from your downloaded folder of the Bridge ue5 plugin. So you should see all your downloaded bridge assets in the quixel tab inside the Dash Content Browser
Fab works a little bit differently as that downloads things temporarily to a temp folder when you add fab assets to your UE projects. So we read from that temp folder. But as you just grabbed Dash, this means, if you want to see your FAB assets, you have to download them from the FAB plugin.
aaaah, that is a FAB problem I am afraid we just open the normal FAB plugin
But you can get to the Megascans assets by clicking on an megascan asset in the FAB startpage, and then inside that asset, you can click on the creator/seller name to go to the megacans/quixel page as well

am i reading this correctly. the assets i have in project if they were already existing from fab. before i installed dash. they wont get picked up in the fab temp folder . meaning if i just redownload them again. then tag them. the materials from all those asset packs will be editable now?
Yee the Quixel packs, like rural australia is a different thing as you say compared to the normal quixel individual assets/materials. So when you download them, they won't show up in the Dash fab tab, unfortunately. So for these, if you already have them in the project, no need to re-download them. They can be accessed from the Library Project tab instead. But without Material Edit support right now sadly. If you don't see that folder inside the project tab, you may need to move it from the Megascans parent folder to another folder not called Megascans. Sorry for this extra step, we have not handled Megascans custom packs properly yet.
But regarding normal megascans assets and materials from fab, yes once you re-add them to a project /download, they will go into the temp folder for a while and thus we can read them and add them to the fab tab in Dash Content browser.
