Dunno where you got that idea. It worked fine on Heroic until middle of today, and the Steam version still works fine, has done for years and is officially supported

the first two things I would do are to give ESO its own prefix instead of a shared default one, i.e.,
/home/alan/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Elder Scrolls Online
then enable umu by checking and unchecking the Disable umu box in game settings, advanced
there's also a .net error in there. it might be a missing dependency for dotnet8 based on the erroreager-peachOP•3mo ago

hmm. try installing from the Heroic UI for Winetricks where you type in the package name

something weird is definitely going on - if I look in the ElderScrollsOnline prefix I don't see that stuff even though it's allegedly installed

tried that too. Going to have a poke at what is going on and why it's not showing up in case it's something dumb my end about permissions or stuff not getting installed in the right place

dotnet4 family just stinks to install under Wine

When we use the winetricks from the Heroic UI, does it write on system wine or Proton GE?
Because it seems to me that the problem is that we don't have 32 bit wine. and dot net 4.8, which is required for zosEGSStarter.exe to function, is a 32 bit application. My wine for ESO is ProtonGE and it always worked until a few days ago. I had windows running on another drive and could play through it, but I am sick and tired of consant BSOD in windows and desperately want to play on Linux again.

It fails to install dotnet 48, note that I was playing on linux using the 9-26 Proton-GE and it was fine, the dotnet 48 was installed but now it is no longer working and even failing to install
Also when I open winetricks from the Heroic, it says "7z not installed! Winetricks might fail to install some packages or even open", writes this twice, and then moves on to do something. I tried to install 7zip through winetricksgui but it doesn't install.

Isn't it the same issue? Failing to install dotnet 48 which is required for the game zosegslauncher.exe to run which causes the game to fail to launch?

I wanted to create a new thread but the issue is the same. Heroic Games Launcher updated the game because Epic updated something and from then on, the game went bust. Game's own launcher log says this.
