Epic cloud saves via Heroic Launcher
Apologize in advance since this topic is all over here but I've tried for a few hours and can't get anything to work. I'm trying to get any of my epic games on my steam deck to sync with the cloud but more specifically have been testing it with THPS 1+2 but to no avail. I have a save on my PC, and a separate one on steam deck that I started and played for a bit before I decided to try and get the further save to sync via the Cloud.
I know the cloud is working on the PC end and I found some save files but they seem to be the local save, I don't know how to get it connected with the cloud . Sorry if this isn't enough information, let me know what logs or something I should share to help. Ive been at it a while and am going to bed now.

PC is using vanilla Epic games yes. I'd like the further save (the PC one that's in the cloud).

“Force download” will pull from the cloud and overwrite your local save

note you only need to do that once.. i'd also back up the save on the pc first before messing with all this
because you will need to test the upload too before you set the "auto sync"
so the steps i'd follow:
- make backup save
- force download on your steam deck in heroic
- play the game see if the save is working, make some progress
- upload from heroic
- load game on pc, validate the save is correct
- If correct you can probably enable auto sync on heroic

Yup, I did all of that last night and just tried again, started on PC and saved it then double checked that it uploaded to cloud.
Started steam deck and forced download, it said that it downloaded a file and erased the local save file, started it up and it's still not the right one.
Ok I got it. I had to delete the local save file, then when I downloaded the cloud file it worked this time for whatever reason.

so the whole cycle is working now? when you upload the pc can see it? when you make more progress on pc, the steam deck updates?

Yup it worked!
